About Me

 Welcome to Created Clay.  ​My name is Amanda and I am the potter behind Created Clay Ceramics. I am situated in Adelaide, South Australia and work from the cozy confines of my home. My forte is creating unique O vases, in addition to crafting mugs, cups, and a diverse range of other pieces. I thoroughly enjoy exploring various textures and designs of clay. ​
 
I take pride in creating each ceramic piece to bring you unique, functional and elegant clay creations that add a touch of beauty to your everyday life.

 

The process of making ceramic pieces is true labour of love. From start to finish it takes approximately 2 weeks. Most of my pieces have been wheel thrown, trimmed then bisque fired to around 1000 degrees for approx. 9 hours. From there, the glaze is applied and fired to 1222 degrees for approx. 12 hours to vitrify the clay.  After cooling they are then sanded. No two pieces are exactly the same which is the beauty of handmade ceramics.
